We'll take a look at how to secure your bet accumulator ticket with a betting exchange.
Like the name says, for this, we'll need to have a classic bookmaker account, where we'll place an accumulator + a betting exchange account.
Next thing to do is to select our top games, which we'll add to our accumulator ticket. Add two or more selections and if possible - don't add games that start at the same time and play simultaneously. The best thing would be if one game ends before another one starts. Of course, that's not always possible, but it would be best.
In our example, we'll add the following games:
Ajax v AZ - 1 @ 1,83
Panetolikos v OFI Crete - 1 @ 2,37
The double accumulator odds are 4,35! With 100€, we could get +435€ in return! Deduct your stake and you'll make +335€!
Let's say, we will place 100€ in this example. We place this ticket on our classic bookmaker. Which game starts first? In our case - Ajax vs. AZ - and this is the most important game on our ticket. Why? Because it's the first one and the first one is really important. It should go according to plan.
Let's say, Ajax scores the first goal. 35. minute, 1-0 for Ajax. Great! Now, we can head to our betting exchange and secure our betting ticket.
- We will place a bet against Ajax (lay Ajax).
- Let's say, the odds against (lay) Ajax are now 1,40. We placed 100€ on our accumulator ticket, so that's something we want to get back if something goes wrong.
- We'll lay Ajax with 106€ @ 1,40.
If Ajax wins, we lost -42,40€ on our betting exchange and our ticket is still alive. Only the potential profit is now smaller (+335€ - 42,40€ = +292,60€). Never mind, because in case Ajax loses this game, we get +100€ from our betting exchange, which means, we just got our ticket stake back. Great. Case closed - a free ticket.
The next game begins - Panetolikos v. OFI. Let's hope for the same scenario - Panetolikos to score first. Now it all depends what happens in the game.
If we think, we made a mistake with this bet, it will not go through, we can stop it right there and close the deal, securing our money.
The odds against Panetolikos are 2,40 on the exchange. Place 185€ @ 2,40 and now we get:
If Panetolikos wins - our ticket wins = +335€ - 42,40€ first cover bet - 259€ second cover bet = +33,60€
If Panetolikos looses - our exchange wins = + 175,75€ - 42,40€ first cover bet -100€ ticket = +33,30€
Let's take a look at some other possible scenarios in this game:
Panetolikos scores first around 30. minute - the odds on the betting exchange drop to 1,60. We'll secure the profit by laying Panetolikos with a certain amount. Let's calculate - we can still win +292,60€. (+335€ - 42,40€ cover bet 1) We'll place 280€ € 1,60 against Panetolikos (lay Panetolikos). What did we do on our betting exchange now? Let's calculate. We can now loose -168€ if Panetolikos wins or win +266€ if they loose.
Overall this means +266€ - 42,40€ from previous cover bet - 100€ betting slip with a bookmaker = +123,6€ profit!
If Panetolikos wins - our ticket wins and we get +335€ - 42,40€ first cover bet - 168€ second cover bet = + 124,6€ profit!
As you can see, we'll make around + 124€ no matter who wins in the end and we saved our stakes + made a lot of money. Of course, if you calculate the stakes more precisely, you could make the same amount on both - bookmaker and a betting exchange.
OFI scored the first goal. Now we have a problem, we have to save what we can. You decide - is it early enough for our team to at least score an equalizer which will reduce odds in our favor? The odds against Panetolikos are now 3,80. Let's assume, we'll be happy with a small loss - our team doesn't play well. Let's lay Panetolikos with 115€ @ 3,80 on a betting exchange.
Now, if they win, we won our ticket = +335€ - 42,40€ first cover bet - 322€ second cover bet = -29,4€
If they loose, we won our last cover bet = +109,25€ (assuming 5% commission) - 42,40 first cover bet - 100€ ticket = -33,15€
Once again - you could adjust the stakes for an even loss. We lost around 30€ instead of our 100€ which we placed on the ticket! Great!
The second game is boring like hell, 50 minutes, still no goals. We don't trust our team, so we try to get out of this mess. The odds against Panetolikos are now 2,70. We will lay them on an exchange with 150€ @ 2,70. Let's see what we did now:
If Panetolikos wins - we won our ticket with +335€ - 42,40€ first cover bet - 255€ - second cover bet = +37,6€. Great, we made money!
If Panetolikos looses - we won our bet exchange second cover bet = +142,50€ - 42,40€ first cover bet -100€ ticket = 0€! Nothing is lost!
As you can see, there is a variety of things you can do with cover bets on a betting exchange which will protect you from loosing your entire ticket stake. It's really important that your first game goes through like planned and you could already lay the second pair before the game starts, securing profits once again.
If you play classic bets 1 - X - 2, you could make a multiple accumulator ticket on a betting exchange and there would be no need for a classic bookmaker. But accumulators are always limited on a betting exchange, for instance, if you'd like to include a Draw no bet, or an Over 1,5 bet in it - it cannot be done on a betting exchange - only classic over 2,5 and 1-x-2 can be added. That's why it's better to combine the games with a classic bookmaker.
We showed you a simple example with two pairs, you could - especially on weekends, include even more games, since they all play the entire afternoon and late in the evening and the selections are huge. Good luck!
